How people consent to our text messages

The full opt-in story, at a public address, for carrier review.

This page exists so that anyone — a customer, a phone carrier, or a regulator — can see exactly how somebody comes to receive a text message from TechMaven, without needing an account.

We text one kind of person: the owner of a TechMaven workspace, at a mobile number they entered themselves and confirmed. We do not text their customers, we do not buy or import phone numbers, and we do not send marketing by text at all.

Who receives a message, and why

A TechMaven workspace owner can ask to be told by text when their AI employee takes a new enquiry, so that a lead does not sit unread in an inbox. That is the only recurring message we send.

The only other message is a one-time confirmation code, sent once, to prove the number belongs to the person entering it.

Nobody else is texted. An End User who talks to a customer’s AI employee is never texted by TechMaven.

How consent is given, step by step

1. The owner signs in to their own workspace and opens Settings, then Alerts. Nothing about text alerts is switched on by default and nothing happens until they act.

2. They type their own mobile number into a field labelled for that purpose, and tick a checkbox that reads, in full and on its own:

“I agree to receive text messages about new enquiries for this workspace. Message frequency depends on how many enquiries you receive. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop, HELP for help.”

3. We send a six-digit code to that number: Confirmation code: “TechMaven AI: [six digits] is your TechMaven AI code. Reply STOP to stop, HELP for help.”

4. They type the code back into the dashboard. Only then is the number enrolled. A number that is never confirmed is never messaged again.

The consent is asked for separately from our Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. Agreeing to those does not enrol anybody for text messages, and no part of this consent is bundled into another agreement.

We store the exact wording shown at the moment of consent, together with the time it was given, against the enrolled number. If anybody ever asks what a person agreed to, the answer is the text they actually saw and not a reconstruction.

What a message looks like

Every message we send says who it is from, so nobody receives an anonymous text, and every one of them ends with the way out.

Confirmation code: “TechMaven AI: [six digits] is your TechMaven AI code. Reply STOP to stop, HELP for help.”

New enquiry alert: “TechMaven AI: New enquiry for [your business]: [the person’s name] [their number]. “[the first line of what they asked]” Reply STOP to stop, HELP for help.”

The square brackets mark where the real details go. We do not publish anybody’s actual enquiry on this page.

Message frequency depends entirely on how many enquiries the workspace receives. Message and data rates may apply. We send no promotional or marketing text messages of any kind.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any message. This is enforced by our telephony provider at the network level as well as recorded by us, so it takes effect even if our own systems fail to notice.

Reply HELP for help, or write to support@techmavs.com.

The number can also be removed at any time from the same Settings screen it was added on, with no code and no waiting.

What we do with the number

Opt-in data and consent are not shared with third parties. A phone number given to us for text messages, and the record of that consent, are never sold, rented, or transferred, and are used only to send the messages consented to and to honour a later opt-out. This is stated in Section 12 of our Privacy Policy as well as here.

The number is processed by our telephony provider solely in order to deliver the message, and by nobody else.
